A file won’t open
Before anything else, check three things: the file’s format, the application you’re opening it with, and where the file is stored.
If the format isn’t supported by that application, the file needs a compatible program or has to be converted — this isn’t a service-side error.
If the format is supported, the usual causes are:
- Missing or broken file paths. Files often reference external assets — textures, libraries, linked files — that weren’t transferred. Keep all related files in one folder and re-link missing assets inside the application.
- A different software version. Newer versions can sometimes open older files, but not always the reverse. Version mismatches cause errors or missing elements.
- An incomplete transfer. Check that all project files were uploaded, and re-upload the whole project folder if needed.
- The wrong storage location. Keep your working files on My files (V:).
